PLASTIC MACHINING WITH PET
VERSATILE MATERIAL WITH HIGH RESISTANCE TO HEAT & COMBUSTIBILITY
PET is a great choice for high-precision plastic parts, moving components, or parts that demand dimensional stability. This amorphous or semi-crystalline thermoplastic offers high-density and low-moisture absorption. Unmodified PET is FDA-compliant and ideal for food processing. Internally lubricated, bearing-grade PET is great for applications that require contact with food.

- Shrink resistant
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is a versatile member of the polyester family. Available as either an amorphous or semi-crystalline thermoplastic, PET is known for its high density, good creep strength, low moisture absorption, and dimensional stability.
In its amorphous state, PET offers high transparency, but lower mechanical properties. In its semi-crystalline form PET offers high rigidity and strength, hardness, and low wear.
PET is well suited for complex applications that demand exacting dimensional accuracy and surface quality, and its standard colors include light amber, dark amber, clear, dark green, and white. At Controlled Fluidics, we use unfilled PET plate up to 1” thick.
