TORLON PLASTIC MATERIAL & MACHINING

DIMENSIONALLY STABLE MATERIAL WITH EXCELLENT HEAT RESISTANCE

Designers and engineers know Torlon as a high performance thermoplastic material known for its exceptional mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties. As it belongs to the family of polyamide-imides, the chemical structure of the resin consists of alternating amide and imide groups that create an incredible molecular bond and outstanding performance in extreme conditions.

It offers high impact and compressive strength with chemical resistance and heat resistance up to 500Ā° F. Torlon plastic parts are popular throughout the aerospace, medical, electrical, and meta-processing industries.

Torlon machined components have superior resistance to high stress conditions at elevated temperatures to 500F. Torlonā€™s high impact and compressive strength set it above other high performance engineered plastics. Dimensional stability via low creep and low coefficient of thermal expansion add to the advantages of the material. Torlon parts are resistant to aromatic, aliphatic, chlorinated, and fluorinated hydrocarbons. Torlon is generally more difficult to machine and requires carbide tooling. It is available in two grades: Torlon 4203 and Torlon 4301.
