PES PLASTIC MACHINING

Pete Poodiack, VP of Sales and Marketing at Controlled Fluidics, talks about PES plastic and what makes it a popular material for plastic machining and fabrication.

Welcome. This video is about PES. PES is short for polyethersulfone also referred to as radal A.

The advantages of PES include its high resistance to heat and combustibility. It has very low smoke emissions ā€” it typically doesnā€™t generate much smoke at all.

It also boasts excellent electrical properties at high temperatures, and it has great chemical resistance.

PES has high dimensional stability and good impact resistance. On top of those advantages, itā€™s very lightweight. This material might be the perfect option if youā€™re looking for a lightweight plastic that can work well in high-heat environments without producing smoke.

PES is usually transparent and amber in color. It can be polished and bonded once formed.

At Controlled Fluidics, we see this material used for medical applications. It is also popular in the electrical, and aerospace industries.

This only covers the basics. Learn more aboutĀ PES (Radel A) Plastic on our materials page.
